"Some people want to go back in time. Others want to know everything before the arrival of time. Is it really possible? Scientists dream about time machines ever since they have started wondering about this notion. Do you all think it's possible? Are we on the way to develop something that can make us travel through those wonderful memories of history and the undefined bygones? We have callers here..." The radio was reverberating at full volume. William, sitting on his couch was carried away into the fantasies of time travel. " What are you thinking William?" His mother asked. "Nothing much. I am perhaps going to know what is there in my future in the future times to come." He replied. Mother lost her speech and hardly understood the depth of it. Both left the conversation and continued with their work.

"The world is finally going to witness it's eighth wonder. The unthinkable has finally been thought about by a surgeon and here we are with the inventor of the 'Time Machine'. Who would have known that people would ultimately witness their future or relive their bygone. But, Dr. William Cooper did and gifted the universe his matchless masterpiece which has already been labelled and awarded by the Government as "The Invention of the year."

"Eliza, it's late! At this hour, is it so necessary?" Asked William with a panic-stricken voice. "I know husband!" replied his wife, "But cartels don't work as per my convenience. And trust me, once I capture them all red handed in my camera, me and my channel are gonna make it large." William sighed. "What about your surgery? That five year old girl?" "Oh yes, I am just about to leave in a minute or so. Shall I drop you somewhere?" William said while clanking the car keys. "No no, I shall help out myself." William left.
Back in his hospital, as he was just about to leave his cabin, the time machine beeped. He took it out of his briefcase and started entering codes. And what he viewed next, left him in his tracks. His hands started quivering while he searched for his cell phone. He might have given dozens of calls in a quarter second but unfortunately all the calls went to voice mails. He could not leave the premises because if he delays the surgery, the patient will die. Finally between the devil and the deep sea, he chose the deep sea. Panting and sweating, he made a last attempt to connect and finally left a message, "Eliza, wherever you are, return home right now. Do you hear me? Or I shall lose you forever. Please come back." Praying and sobbing hard, he entered the operation theatre where staff was already waiting impatiently.

"Elizabeth Cooper, the famous crime reporter and wife of the famous scientist and surgeon Dr William Cooper was found dead under suspicious circumstances."
2008
Exactly three years of a widower's life... William had lost his purpose of existence. And so did the invention of his time machine. Knowing the future didn't do any good. He couldn't save his wife despite knowing everything. But the entire country was praising his dedication towards his profession. And somewhere, it helped him keep going with his practice and serving the needy.

"Doctor, can you please help me?" A highly injured man barged into William's clinic without any appointment. William scrutinised him from head to toe. His arms had taken a bullet which was bleeding heavily. "Yes, it's rather a part of my duty." Replied William coldly. "Chased by cops or robbers?" William asked. "The cops, I am a smuggler." The man confessed. Meanwhile, there was beep on the time machine. William was already developing an eerie feeling. He excused himself and went inside a secret chamber. The clip he was shown by the machine bemused him. He was getting nauseous. "Doctor, I am getting late. Can you please hurry up." Shouted the man. William came outside. A darkness did cover the place. "For which cartel do you work for?" William asked. "None of your business." The man replied irritably. "Yes I do have. You might be knowing Elizabeth Cooper then." The man got uncomfortable, "Why do you ask?" "She was my wife." William's face glowed red now. "Oh, I get it!" The man smirked, "So is there going to be a revenge game or a sort of thing." William retorted, "What if I say yes?" "You can't do anything to me, you old piece of crap." The man as soon as started to run away, William was overpowered with the unknown rage and he screamed, "Then suit yourself, you monster!" and the next moment, the man was stabbed and crippled on the floor surrounded by the pool of blood.
"Doctor, I can't stay here for long and it's paining. Please make it fast!" shouted the man after a good deal of silence. The time machine showed the sequence of the conversation and the rest he had been dreaming for about five minutes since then. He came out. "I am sorry, something came up." William apologised. He took out the bullet and gave him medicines. The man thanked him and left the clinic hastily.
After all, William was a doctor and not a killer. Doctors are born to save lives just like Gods and Gods don't harm humans intentionally. William recovered from his state of misery, as it was him and not the patient who was gifted a new meaning to his life. Finally left with no remorse, William dedicated his rest of his life in serving the mankind.
